The Social Heist of the Year: Peeling Back the Curtain on HBO’s McMillions Premiere

To mark the release of McMillions at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, HBO and MKTG’s Atlanta Live team hosted an interactive after-party that fully immersed guests in the world of the infamous McDonald’s Monopoly scam. Attendees were encouraged to “peel to win,” mirroring the fraud at the center of the docu-series, while engaging with brand activations throughout the event.

I created three animated social videos to amplify the event. A pre-event teaser inviting guests to “pull back the conspiracy” at our event. A day-of animation directing attendees to prizes, and a post event campaign to sustain momentum and highlight the event’s success. Collaborating closely with our Atlanta office, I ensured all social graphics aligned seamlessly with the live event, creating a cohesive brand experience from digital to on-site activation.
